 Dollar Deals

I love watching the Super Bowl with my friends and family. My son is so excited that his team, San Francisco is finally in it this year! He has always supported them. I have to be honest though, my favorite part of the Super Bowl is the commercials. How about you? Well, I am here to tell you something else that you can get excited about. We have joined up with some great teachers to bring you awesome Dollar Deal resources for your classroom, and you can grab them for just $1!

George Washington Emergent Reader

The first item we will have for a dollar is our George Washington Emergent Reader. Students love these books because they have real photos and the words can also be sung to a simple tune,  and teachers love them because students can match content-area vocabulary with the pictures. There are empty boxes next to the pictures that you can use to teach phonetic elements that are in the words. Some teachers use them for definitions of the words or practicing writing beginning sounds of the words. This makes it easy to differentiate instruction with your guided reading groups. There is also a single page included where students can highlight the words and keep it in a poetry notebook. There are comprehension questions in the back of the book.

My students love to pull the books out of their book baskets and read or sing together. See more about this book here.

Quentin’s Task Cards

Our second dollar deal is Quentin’s Task Cards. They are cute cards with word problems that cover addition and subtraction 1-20. Quentin is our penguin mascot and the students love him! Word problems can be difficult, but these cards and fish manipulatives make them fun. I like to use them in a math center with whiteboards and dry erase markers.
