Book 1- all about ELECTION DAY and includes words like vote, election, candidate
Book 2 -all about THANKSGIVING PAST and includes words like Native Americans, Pilgrims, corn
Book 3 – all about VETERANS DAY and includes words like war, soldiers, freedom
Book 4- all about THANKSGIVING PRESENT and includes words like blessings, turkey, family
Book 5- all about FORCES and MOTION and includes words like motion, push, pull
All 5 November books will come in color for the teacher to read out loud as you focus on the word of the day. I like to make it into a big book and sing the song as I show the pages of the book and discuss the word of the day. There are also copies of the lyrics on one page that I like to make into a poster so we can highlight the calendar words. We also included black and white copies for the students to highlight their own words. These books are great for their book baskets! There is a teacher guide with ideas for how to use these books. We have put the words to familiar piggyback songs such as Mary Had a Little Lamb so the songs are easy for the kids to sing as they read these books.
